Mary Childress Rodgers "Chile"
February 1, 1925 - May 20, 2016
Chile passed away on Friday morning in her home surrounded by her friends at the age of 91. Chile was a "grandmother," a trainer, a teacher, and most of all our dearest friend. She touched and changed the lives of so many. It would be impossible to list all of her many accomplishments, unselfish giving, and endless love. Chile started Childress Rodgers Stables almost 40 years ago with her dream of sharing her love and knowledge of horses with all. She produced countless great riders, trainers, and horses that will leave a lasting mark on the equine industry. Her signature line while teaching lessons was "One More Time." Chile was included in George Morris's very personal autobiography Relentless. We will continue to carry on her lifelong work of teaching and training at Childress Rodgers Stables. Chile would say , "This barn never made a lot of money but it made a lot of lives and that is what is important."
We proudly support these organizations and their mission.
